Harmony's Mothers Exposed!
Mother's Day is upon us and there is certainly no shortage of moms in Harmony. But should all of these mothers be celebrated in honor of the day? There's only one way to find out. Read on for our inside look at the good, the bad, and the crazy mothers of Harmony!

Grace Bennett—Outside of the Bennett home, the entire town believes Grace should be "Mother of the Year." But is she really as good as she seems? Well, her eldest daughter Kay certainly doesn't think so. According to Kay, Grace is better suited for the title of "Mother from Hell." Kay believes that Grace puts everyone else's needs above her own, especially Grace's niece Charity. Kay reached her limit after learning that she was pregnant with the baby of Charity's fiancĂ©, Miguel. Kay couldn't believe that her mother would continue to support Miguel and Charity's relationship, even though Kay was the one carrying Miguel's baby! As a result of her mother's actions, a pregnant Kay ran away from home...in the middle of a blizzard! Doesn't exactly speak too well of Grace as a mama! Of course, this is just Kay's opinion. Grace's "long-lost son" John would definitely sing a different tune. Thanks to her tomato soup cake and tender loving care, John believes Grace is a little slice of heaven!

Rebecca Hotchkiss—As a mother, Rebecca has certainly proven she'd do anything for her only child, Gwen. And while most of the time this is an admirable quality in a mom, Rebecca has also proven that sometimes the "anything" can be taken a little too far! Rebecca has always wanted to ensure her little girl's happiness and to Rebecca, this means making sure Gwen lives happily ever after with Ethan. In order to make this happen, Rebecca has done everything from sending an email revealing Ethan's paternity to setting up Gwen's rival Theresa to be executed for Julian's murder! Misguided motherhood? Undoubtedly. But no one can ever accuse Rebecca of neglecting her offspring. In fact, Gwen would probably prefer it if Rebecca neglected her just a tad bit more!

Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald—The matriarch of the Lopez-Fitzgerald family certainly has her hands full. Pilar has been going-it alone for years, ever since her husband Martin disappeared mysteriously. For most single moms, this would mean a lot of multi-tasking like juggling a career while raising children. For Pilar, this means handling her children's many crises alone. Pilar has had to watch Theresa get pregnant by a man she hates, Miguel trapped in the flames of hell, Luis grieve for his presumed-dead love, and Antonio fall into a coma. And that's only the tip of the iceberg. A lesser woman would certainly have cracked under the pressure by now. But Pilar gets through it all with the help of her faith and the power of prayer. Although this is not to say she hasn't had her moments. Just ask Luis and Theresa about the times that she's slapped them!

Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald—Theresa always dreamed of having lots of babies. But in her fantasies, Ethan was the father of Theresa's children. She never dreamed that Julian Crane would be the father of her first-born! In fact, when Theresa first learned she was pregnant with Julian's baby; she contemplated having an abortion. However, at the last minute she decided that she couldn't go through with it. During her pregnancy, Theresa certainly endured more than most moms-to-be! While pregnant she was found guilty of Julian's "murder" and sentenced to lethal injection as soon as the baby was born! And then she was forced to give birth in a cabin with only Ethan and Gwen around to help! Talk about perseverance...However, Theresa has not quite shown the same mothering fortitude since Little Ethan was born. After all, she almost died twice for the sake of Ethan...a fate that would have left her baby without a mother. But at least she's willing to fight tooth and nail to make sure that her baby is not raised in the dysfunctional Crane household!

Eve Russell—Like so many mothers, Eve wants to make sure that her daughters have a better start than she did. The problem is that, as a result, she is lying to everyone around her! Eve's family believes that Eve comes from a well-to-do family and that she had a perfect childhood. In reality, Eve left her family when she was a young woman and turned to a life of drugs, sex, and alcohol! Eve is determined to make sure that her daughters never learn the truth about her wild past. But is keeping the secret really this mother's smartest move? After all, her desire to keep a lid on things has resulted in some pretty crazy behavior-including setting fire to an old man's apartment, threatening the life of her ex-lover Julian, and most recently embarrassing Whitney in a jazz club full of strangers! Of course, Eve's maternal instinct might have some merit. After all, she believes that her presumed-dead son with Julian is alive. If this turns out to be the case, then her maternal radar is right on. Then again, if her son is Chad that means her daughter and son have been sleeping together right under her nose!

Mrs. Wallace—Mrs. Edna Wallace certainly has a very unique mothering style, to say the least. Actually many would probably call it cold, mean, and abusive! After all, when her only child Beth was just a little girl Mrs. Wallace could only be counted on for one thing-to stumble home drunk with a new man each night. And things have gone from bad to worse. While most mothers tell their daughters that they deserve all the best things in life, Mrs. Wallace reminds Beth that she deserves only the worse! In fact, she's rooting for Beth's romantic rival Sheridan to be the one who lives happily ever after with Luis, the man Beth has always loved! However, Mrs. Wallace may not entirely be to blame for this strange mother-daughter dynamic. After all, Beth has repeatedly threatened to either kill her invalid mother or stick her in a nasty nursing home! And when Mrs. Wallace kept rambling on to her nurse about Beth's plots, Beth did what few daughters would think to do-she hired her mother an orangutan named Precious as her new caretaker! With this pair, it's hard to tell who's the bad guy. But either way, we're pretty sure Mrs. Wallace won't be receiving so much as a card this year!

Ivy Winthrop Crane—As a mother, Ivy has her good points and bad points-it all depends on which of her children you talk to! Ivy was always the perfect mother to her eldest son, Ethan. After all, he was smart, handsome, kind...and the son of her true love Sam. On the other hand her other children (the product of her loveless marriage to Julian Crane) were completely ignored. Knowing his real identity, Ivy showered Ethan with love and affection. Nothing was too good for the apple of her eye. But there was one thing she didn't give Ethan-the truth. Ethan (and everyone else) grew up believing that he was a Crane, just like his siblings. Unfortunately for Ivy, the truth eventually came out. Ethan was none too pleased with his mother, who claimed everything she did was out of love for him. If that's the case, then what about what she doesn't do for her other children? Fox recently confided in Theresa that he never got so much as a kiss goodnight or a birthday present from his mother. And as for Fox's two sisters, they haven't come home in years! Could it be because Mama Crane isn't waiting for them with open arms?
