Gwen's future seemed pretty uncertain when she learned she was
pregnant-after all, Ethan, the baby's father, was about to propose to
her
nemesis, Theresa. But once Ethan learned of Gwen's pregnancy, he stood
by
Gwen's side and the childhood sweethearts finally married. Gwen
couldn't
have been happier to finally be Mrs. Ethan Winthrop and to be carrying
her
beloved's baby. Gwen wants to remember all of the details of this time,
so
when she was in the hospital she took the opportunity to write down her
thoughts on her upcoming bundle of joy. Now you can see Gwen's personal
thoughts in these excerpts from her baby book!
Mother:
Gwen Hotchkiss Winthrop
Father:
Ethan Winthrop
Other Nearby Relatives:
Well of course, there is my mother and Ethan's
mother. Although as much as they are looking forward to this baby's
arrival,
I know they will not want to be called Grandma! My mother would sooner
eat
fast food or shop at a discount store than acknowledge the fact that
she is
a grandmother. But I really do believe that in spite of both my
mother's and
Ivy's, well, issues...they will genuinely love and care for this baby. I
am
also hoping that the Bennetts will be involved in our baby's life since
Sam
is the baby's grandfather. I think the Bennetts would be a really
positive
influence on his or her life. Plus it will be nice for our baby to have
built-in half siblings!
Pregnancy Symptoms:
Unfortunately, this pregnancy has not exactly been
smooth sailing these days. This wonderful baby is trying to put Mom
through
the ringer! But that's okay because he or she will be more than worth
it.
Ever since Sheridan disappeared, I've been under a tremendous amount of
stress worrying about her. That seems to have set off some
complications.
Not to mention the stress of having Theresa around all the time,
constantly
hanging all over my husband...But I have every confidence that once I am
under
the care of the amazing specialist Dr. Abel (as well as 3000 miles away
from
Theresa) that everything will be perfectly fine.
Cravings:
I've definitely kept Ethan on his toes with all of my
cravings.
One night I sent him out at 2:00am to find me a certain brand of
chocolate
chip cookies! And then when he got home, I decided I wanted Godiva
chocolate
instead. Luckily we had a box in the house that we'd ordered from New
York
because it's a little challenging to find Godiva in Harmony! Before
Sheridan
disappeared, it was nice to have someone around that could understand
what I
was going through. I remember the time we ate all of the muffins in the
Book
Café...in one sitting!
How I've Prepared for the Little One's Arrival:
Since I learned I was
pregnant, my whole life has centered on preparing for the baby. I've
been
seeing Dr. Russell regularly and attending Lamaze classes. I've also
been
practicing pre-natal yoga and have been receiving maternity massages
once a
week. And then there's the fun part-I've been shopping like crazy and
picking up the cutest baby clothes and furniture for the nursery!
My Goals For the Little One:
Of course I want our baby to one day be
President of the United States or to cure cancer! But more importantly
than
anything else, I want our baby to have a loving family, with its mother
and
father always around to give love and support. With Ethan and me as his
or
her parents, I know that's exactly what our baby will have.
