The Russells are one of Harmony's core families and have a strong presence in the community. The family consists of happily-married couple Eve and TC, and their two beloved daughters, Whitney and Simone. To the Russells, family is everything...but secrets and lies could threaten to destroy this close-knit group.
Eve is a well-respected doctor, but she has a secret past that not even her family knows. Years ago, Eve left home and began working as a nightclub singer in seedy bars and clubs. As a result, she became involved in the fast world of sex, drugs, and alcohol. During this time, she had a torrid affair with wealthy playboy Julian Crane. Eve really did love Julian at the time, and Julian has since revealed to Eve that he loved her too. The two conceived a child but as a result of his father's machinations, Julian abandoned Eve while she was pregnant. Eve eventually gave birth to a baby boy, whom she believes died at birth. Eve is desperate to keep her shameful past a secret from her family members, who all think she is a perfect role model. She is especially determined that nothing is revealed because her husband, TC, hates Julian with a passion. TC believes that the night before he was to play Julian in an important tennis match years ago, the young Crane purposely caused a car accident in which TC was injured. This accident cost TC his dreams of a professional tennis career.
Unable to fulfill his own goal of becoming a champion tennis player, TC has focused his dreams on his talented daughter, Whitney. For her entire life, Whitney has worked towards becoming the best in the sport. But when she met Chad Harris, who came to Harmony in search of his biological parents, Whitney realized there was more to life than just tennis. Chad and Whitney were immediately attracted to one another, and once Whitney let her guard down, the two fell in love. Unfortunately, Whitney's sister Simone, who has always felt like she lives in her sister's shadow, developed a huge crush on Chad at first sight. Due to a major miscommunication, Simone even believes that Chad is her boyfriend! And to make matters worse, TC has agreed to let Simone date Chad-but Eve realizes that the real connection is between Chad and Whitney, not Chad and Simone. Chad and Whitney are desperate to tell Simone the truth, and go public with their love, but do not want to hurt her.
Only time will tell whether the complicated triangle of Chad, Simone, and Whitney can work itself out. And in the meantime, it remains to be seen whether Eve's secrets will stay secret now that Liz, a vengeful woman from Eve's past, has entered the picture! The lives of the Russells are certainly anything but simple!
