It's the moment Passions' fans have been waiting for as Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald and Sheridan Crane finally reunite! It's been a long road back together for these star-crossed lovers...but what led up to their tragic separation? It's "He Said/She Said," as Galen Gering (Luis) and McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan) take you on a stroll down Luis and Sheridan's memory lane. Read on to relive the momentous highs and lows of the couple's relationship through Galen and McKenzie's eyes!
Luis and Sheridan first met in a most unusual way-when Sheridan crashed right into Luis' police car!
Galen:
I never thought that would be one of the scenes people went back to-because I didn't feel Luis was giving Sheridan a break until they worked together at the Youth Center.
McKenzie:
I think that's what was so great about it. It was a lot of the quick one-liners. That's what I loved.
Galen:
You could see that these characters could go toe-to-toe. I guess that's what people picked up on.
McKenzie:
We had auditioned together, so I knew we'd be working together, but I remember waiting for it. I wondered how long it was going to take. Little did I know one day in Harmony was five months of regular time! I knew from the audition scene that the chemistry was there. Then,
when
they started arguing all the time I really liked it. It's that fire
which
builds to passion between the two characters.
At Pilar's birthday party, Luis and Sheridan shared a steamy tango!
McKenzie:
That's when I knew that there was going to be something really big between these two characters. The tango is when it really hit me that this couple could be the next Luke and Laura or Bo and Hope. I went online afterwards and people were going nuts.
Galen:
I couldn't believe it. I thought-what is this ridiculous dance we're doing in my backyard under a piñata;? But it exploded. It was really cool to see that.
McKenzie:
Performing the dance was frightening. Everybody is waiting on you because there are time issues and you want to do your best. And then you have to talk through the whole thing.
Galen:
I remember the choreographer worked with a partner to show us how it was supposed to look. I sat back and said-there is no way! I cannot do that! But then people said it looked really good. Even James (Hyde, Sam) who always says I have two left feet told me I did good.
McKenzie:
As soon as we started dancing, we worked really well together.
When Luis decided to fly to New Mexico to investigate his father's disappearance, Sheridan went along for the ride!
Galen:
That was a lot of fun. McKenzie and I thought it was great for the two characters to work together for some kind of cause. She had compared it to Mulder and Scully.
McKenzie:
Or David and Maddie from "Moonlighting."
Galen:
They were on this adventure making discoveries about the case, and more importantly, about each other.
McKenzie:
I loved the New Mexico stuff. Throughout it all, they learned all these new little things about each other. Luis learned that Sheridan could fly a plane so he thought-- wow, she's pretty cool. And later when she slipped and fell, he saved her life. So she looked at him and thought-oh my God, he just saved my life.
Galen:
They built this whole incredible set with big fake boulders and plants. There was a rain sequence that led to the flash flood. When it started raining, all the paint and the glue went right into the pool. And then I had to pretend I was drowning, so I was sucking in all of this water. Boy, were we sick.
McKenzie:
We both got so sick.
Galen:
Not to mention the whole mildew factor that went on with the clothing.
McKenzie:
We smelled so bad! We had to get hosed off!
Galen:
Have you ever left flowers too long in a vase? That's what it was like.
After Luis accidentally broke Sheridan's silver compact, he bought her a new one to replace it.
Galen:
You threw away the compact, didn't you?
McKenzie:
You thought that I threw it away.
Galen:
But you really did, didn't you?
McKenzie:
It fell out of my purse...
Galen:
Into the garbage can. How convenient! I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
McKenzie:
The compact meant everything to Sheridan. It was the first gift he ever gave her. And there was so much thought behind it.
Galen:
You threw it away.
McKenzie:
I did not throw it away! It fell out of my purse.
Galen:
It was like a week's salary!
McKenzie:
That was the other thing that meant so much to her. It was an expensive compact and he spent his hard-earned money. He didn't have to because she's the kind of person who would just be happy with a card. She grew up being given everything. So meaning and sentiment mean more to her than money.
After Sheridan was buried alive, it seemed that there was no hope for her-but she surprised Luis at church on Christmas Eve.
McKenzie:
When Sheridan was buried alive, it was the first time that Galen and I hadn't really worked together for a while. Actually, I wasn't working with anyone. It was just me and a box. I was so thankful to come out of that. I was so glad to be working with him again.
Galen:
She just wanted to get out of that box. That was freaking her out.
McKenzie:
I hated that thing. I'm claustrophobic now because of it.
Galen:
The Christmas miracle was great because it meant she was back...at least for a few months until she blew up. The best thing is that we really have fun working together. We always work well off of one another. Getting her back after the Christmas miracle meant more fun stuff to come.
McKenzie:
I remember the message boards went crazy over that scene. The fans have really come to look at these characters as two people who should be together. After being broken apart by something so dramatic, the fans just wanted to see them come together.
